The Yountville Community Center consists of a new 10,000 sf facility, renovation of an existing Community Hall and a Sheriff’s Substation addition to the adjacent Post Office. These three civic buildings frame a new Yountville Town Square.
The new building houses a branch library, multi-purpose room, teen center, meeting and program spaces. Because sustainability and a LEED gold rating was a priority of Yountville’s leadership, a number of green features were integrated: a ground source heating and cooling system, a 38 kw photovoltaic array, low-flow plumbing fixtures, environmentally preferred building materials, efficient lighting and daylighting, natural ventilation, water-conserving landscape, and an innovative subsurface irrigation system.
Services Provided:
On this project I served as the owner’s representative for the Town of Yountville while employed by Pound Management, Inc.. Involvement on this project began at the tail end of the design phase continuing through completion and moving staff in.
Preconstruction
Reviewed and edited all project documents.
Orchestrated the bidding process.
Prepared a comprehensive project budget.
Construction
Established and maintained communication protocols between the Town, design team, contractors and vendors.
Monitored performance of design team and contractors.
Reviewed all project pay applications.
Provided daily on-site guidance to contractors.
Maintained project documentation.
Regularly briefed Town Council on project progress and status.
